Mickelson, D.M., Clayton, Lee, Baker, R.W., Mode, W.N., and Schneider, A.F., 1984, Pleistocene stratigraphic units of Wisconsin: Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey Miscellaneous Paper, no. 84-1, 15 p.

Summary:

Pg. 4 (table 1); App., p. A3-1 to A3-3. Bakerville Member of Lincoln Formation. (Follows the informal usage of W.N. Mode, 1976, Univ. Wisconsin MS thesis.) Is the lower member of Lincoln Formation (new) in the Chippewa Sublobe, central Wisconsin. Consists of reddish-brown, cobbly, pebbly, sandy loam. Maximum thickness 10 m. In some places is texturally indistinguishable from the till of the adjacent Merrill Member (new), which is given a different name because continuity between the units has not been established. Overlies Precambrian or Cambrian bedrock, or Edgar Member (new) of Marathon Formation (new); is the surface unit in the Marshfield moraine. Age is Pleistocene (early Wisconsinan), based on age of organic material overlying the Merrill Member.
Type section (=Lincoln Formation type section): in gravel pit east of Robin Road, about 250 m south of its intersection with [County Trunk Highway BB (Heritage Drive)], 1 mi (1.7 km) west of Bakerville, in SE/4 NW/4 NW/4 sec. 26, T. 25 N., R. 2 E., [approx. Lat. 44 deg. 37 min. 27 sec. N., Long. 90 deg. 14 min. 06 sec. W.], northern edge Lake Manakiki 7.5-min quadrangle, Wood Co., central WI.
Named from Bakerville, at intersection of County Trunk Highways B and BB, [southern edge of adjacent Marshfield 7.5-min quadrangle], Wood Co., central WI; name credited to William N. Mode.
Reference section: road ditch exposure on northwest side of junction of Grant-York Road and Romadka Road, about 0.6 mi (1 km) north of village of Granton, in SE/4 SE/4 SE/4 sec. 35, T. 25 N., R. 1 W., [approx. Lat. 44 deg. 35 min. 48 sec. N., Long. 90 deg. 27 min. 28 sec. W.], Granton 7.5-min quadrangle, Clark Co., central WI.
