Type section: in gravel pit east of Robin Road, about 250 m south of its intersection with [County Trunk Highway BB (Heritage Drive)], 1 mi (1.7 km) west of Bakerville, in SE/4 NW/4 NW/4 sec. 26, T. 25 N., R. 2 E., [approx. Lat. 44 deg. 37 min. 27 sec. N., Long. 90 deg. 14 min. 06 sec. W.], northern edge Lake Manakiki 7.5-min quadrangle, Wood Co., central WI (Mickelson and others, 1984; Syverson and others, 2011).
Named from Bakerville, at intersection of County Trunk Highways B and BB, southern edge of adjacent Marshfield 7.5-min quadrangle, Wood Co., central WI; name credited to William N. Mode (Mickelson and others, 1984; Syverson and others, 2011).
Reference section: road ditch exposure on northwest side of junction of Grant-York Road and Romadka Road, about 0.6 mi (1 km) north of village of Granton, in SE/4 SE/4 SE/4 sec. 35, T. 25 N., R. 1 W., [approx. Lat. 44 deg. 35 min. 48 sec. N., Long. 90 deg. 27 min. 28 sec. W.], Granton 7.5-min quadrangle, Clark Co., central WI (Mickelson and others, 1984; Syverson and others, 2011).
