Type section (subsurface): depth-interval 54.5 to 57 m [approx. 178.1 to 187 ft], Clubhouse Crossroads No. 1 corehole, in Drayton Swamp, 3.5 km southwest of Clubhouse Crossroads, Cottageville 15-min quadrangle, Dorchester Co., southern SC (Ward and others, 1979).
Type area (subsurface): drillholes southwest to northeastward along eastern side of Edisto RIver between Parkers Ferry and Ponpon on U.S. Highway 17, Charleston Co., and Sullivans Ferry on U.S. Highway 17A, Dorchester Co., southern SC (Ward and others, 1979).
