Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Exposures along Lockatong Creek, a tributary of the Delaware River, Hunterdon Co., NJ (Kummel, 1897).
Composite section: along both sides of the Delaware River, from Lumberville and Raven Rock to Point Pleasant, Bucks Co., PA, and Hunterdon Co., NJ (McLaughlin, 1945).
