Type locality: northwest end of mesa-like part of Yucca Mountain, in vicinity of southwestern part of Nevada Test Site, Topopah Spring 15-min quadrangle, Nye Co., southern NV. Named from Yucca Mountain (Lipman and Christiansen, 1964).
