Not designated in original description (Harrison and Eaton [consulting firm], 1920). Schenck (1928) interpreted type locality to be near village of Yaquina, near Newport, Lincoln Co., northwestern OR.
Beaulieu (1971) states type locality is at Yaquina Bay, northwestern OR.
