Type section: along White Clay Creek, under the Windy Hills bridge, on Kirkwood Highway (DE Route 2), Lat. 39 deg. 41 min. 32 sec. N., Long. 75 deg. 43 min. 29 sec. W., Newark East 7.5-min quadrangle, New Castle Co., DE (locality Cb42-c). Origin of name not stated by authors, but probably named from town of Windy Hills (Plank and others, 2000).
