Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Exposure on a short branch of Patterson Creek, 0.6 mi east of Williamsport, Grant Co., east-central WV, where private road turns northeast from main Williamsport-Moorefield Highway (Reger, 1924).

Appalachian basin*
