Type area: on east side of Warm Springs Creek Valley, in secs. 19, 20, 29, and 30, T. 18 S., R. 26 E., [Grant Co.?], OR. Named from Weberg Ranch, on lower Warm Springs Creek, in sec. 18, T. 18 S., R. 26 E., Crook Co., OR (Lupher, 1941).
Type locality: exposures on north side of a gully emptying into Warm Springs Creek, in SW/4 SE/4 sec. 19, T. 18 S., R. 26 E. (Beaulieu, 1972, citing Dickinson and Vigrass, 1965).
