Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Along abandoned road west of State Highway 267 and south of Warley Creek, 3 mi north-northwest of Lone Star, Elloree quadrangle, Calhoun Co. Phase and marl were named from exposures at Warley Hill, in eastern part of Orangeburg Co., SC (Sloan, 1905).
