Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: along Chandler River and Torok Creek, between Lat. 68 deg. 40 min. and 68 deg. 43 min. 45 sec. N., [Chandler Lake quadrangle] northern AK (Patton, 1956).
Type section (composite): discontinuous series of exposures through ~6000 ft of stratigraphic section along Torok Creek and Chandler River, in northwestern Chandler Lake quadrangle. Lower part along Torok Creek, in secs. 2, 3, 4, and 9, T. 9 S., R. 2 W.; continues up section along Chandler River, in secs. 1 and 2, T. 9 S., R. 2 W., and secs. 23, 25, and 36, T. 8 S., R. 2 W., northern AK (Mull and others, 2003).
