Exposure about 3,000 ft northeast of Smugglers Pass in Fusselman Canyon, southern Franklin Mountains, Lat. 31 deg. 53 min. 06 sec. N., Long. 106 deg. 29 min. 34 sec. W., El Paso Co., TX. Named from Thunderbird Mountain on southwest flank of South Franklin Mountain (Thomann, 1981).
