Type area (no complete section exposed): in headward part of Thirsty Canyon, north and east of Beatty, Black Mountain 15-min quadrangle, Nye Co., southern NV. Crops out from Beatty to Goldfield, Nye and Esmeralda Cos., NV (Noble and others, 1964).
