Type section (composite): between east face of Taft Hill and a point 5 mi east, in secs. 25 and 36, T. 21 N., R. 1 E., secs. 1 and 12, T. 20 N., R. 1 E., secs. 2, 11, and 9, T. 20 N., R. 2 E., Cascade Co., UT. Named from exposures on east slope of Taft Hill, Cascade Co., MT (Cobban and others, 1959).
Reference section (composite): in S/2 sec. 36 and 19, T. 21 N., R. 2 E., Cascade Co., MT (Cobban and others, 1976).
