Not designated. Present in Powder River basin. Exposed at surface near Salt Creek oil field [Natrona Co., central WY]. Origin of name not stated by author, but probably named from Sussex oil field in [secs. 22 and 23], T. 42 N., R. 78 W., Johnson Co., WY (Wilson, 1951).
