Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: composite of two measured sections along the West Fork of Straight Creek in central Brown Co., OH: Ohio Geological Survey measured section 16904, 1,185 m northwest of the junction of the West Fork of Straight Creek with Straight Creek and Ohio Geological Survey measured section 19605, located 760 m northwest of section 16904 (Schumacher and others, 1991).
