Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: on Hoover Farm just north of U.S. Route 30, 2 mi southeast of center of Chambersburg near the community of Stoufferstown, Franklin Co., PA (Sando, 1958).
Type section (adjusted): is 12,000 feet east of the center of Chambersburg on U.S. Route 30. Stoufferstown no longer exists (Root, 1968).
