Not designated. First known from Lion Oil Refining Company Hayes No. 9-A well, in sec. 9, T. 16 S., R. 15 W., Union Co., AR. Named from Smackover field (Bingham, 1937).
Reference section (subsurface): depth-interval 11,075 to 12,007 ft, Pan-American Petroleum Corp. Giraud Gas Unit No. 1, East Texas basin, Cass Co., TX (Dickinson, 1968).
