Typically exposed throughout lower part of valley of Sloan Canyon, in east-central part of T. 31 N., R. 35 E., Union Co., northeastern NM (Parker, 1933).
Type section: north bank of Sloan Creek, in NW/4 SW/4 NW/4 and SE/4 SW/4 NW/4 sec. 12, T. 31 N., R. 35 E., Union Co., NM (Lucas and others, 1987).
Reference section: measured in NE/4 NE/4 NE/4 sec. 2 and N/2 SW/4 NW/4 NW/4 sec. 1, T. 31 N., R. 34 E., Union Co., NM (Lucas and others, 1987).
