Type section: roadcut on Perry Co. Farmmarket Road D, in SE/4 NE/4 SW/4 sec. 29, T. 25 N., R. 13 E., Altenburg, MO-IL, 7.5-min quadrangle, Perry Co., eastern MO. Named from village of Seventy-Six, located about 1 mi northeast of type section (Satterfield and Thompson, 1975).
