Type section: south wall of Berry Materials Co. quarry on north edge of North Vernon, in NE/4 NW/4 sec. 34, T. 7 N., R. 8 E. Named from Selmier State Forest, Jennings Co., IN, 1 mi northeast of type section (Lineback, 1968).
