Incomplete exposures on summit of Scout Mountain and on ridge approx. 2 mi (3.2 km) north and south of Scout Mountain, about 15 mi (24 km) south-southeast of Pocatello, in T. 8 and 9 S., R. 35 E., Bannock Co., ID. Named from Scout Mountain (Crittenden and others, 1971).
Reference section (composite), all in T. 7 S., R. 35 E., Bannock Co., ID: (1) in SW/4 sec. 15; (2) W/2 sec. 27; and (3) NW/4 sec. 34 (Crittenden and others, 1971).
