Type section: two large adjacent outcrops located on a high bluff overlooking Santee River, at Sawdust Landing (also known as Trezevant's Landing), Lat 33 deg. 43 min. 15 sec. N., Long. 80 deg. 37 min. 55 sec. W., Calhoun Co., central SC (Muthig and Colquhoun, 1988).
