Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: Exposures at Eutaw Springs, Orangeburg Co., SC, 3.5 mi east-northeast of Eutawville. Back water from Lake Marion has partly inundated old exposure, but some limestone still above level of reservoir (Cooke and MacNeil, 1952).
