Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

About 2 mi northwest [northeast?] of old village of San Vicente, immediately east of USGS benchmark elevation 1,881. Named from San Vicente in Big Bend National Park, which was itself named for Presidio de San Vicente, an ancient military outpost built by Spaniards in the 17th century (Maxwell and Hazzard, 1967).
Type section: about 1 mi east of old village, Brewster Co., TX (Maxwell and Hazzard, 1967).
