Type section: dolomite quarry on a narrow interfluve, in SE/4 NW/4 SW/4 NE/4 sec. 14, T. 3 N., R. 1 W., Grant Co., southwestern WI. West facing exposure at east edge of Rosemeyer Farm quarry. Named from Rountree Branch, a tributary of the Little Platte River (Clayton and Attig, 1990).
