Type locality: Tomb Field Gully, in old Orangeburg district (Lang Syne Plantation, near Fort Motte, now in Calhoun Co.), [Lat. 33 deg. 43 min. 45 sec. N., Long. 80 deg. 40 min. 04 sec. W.], central SC (Dall, 1898).
