Type section (subsurface): borehole CH-11, east end of Route 648, 0.5 mi (0.8 km) east of Stumptown, west of Penn Central RR, 10 mi (16 km) south-southwest of town of Nassawadox, Cheriton 7.5-min quadrangle, Northampton Co., VA (Mixon, 1985).
