Type section: roadcut on north side of Caylor Road, 0.9 mi (1.5 km) north of Highway JJ, in NE/4 NW/4 SE/4 sec. 8, T. 33 N., R. 23 E., Stephenson 15-min quadrangle, Marinette Co., WI. Named from the Middle Inlet Twp. (Mickelson and others, 1984).
