Mapped around Mount Mesnard [also informally called "Mount Marquette"], in secs. 34 and 35, T. 48 N., R. 25 W., south of Marquette, in southeastern part of Marquette 7.5-min quadrangle, Marquette Co., Northern Peninsula, northwestern MI. Named from Mount Mesnard (Van Hise and Bayley, 1895; Gair and Thaden, 1968).
