In NW/4 NW/4 NE/4 sec. 16, T. 29 S., R. 4 E., Dona Ana Co., NM. Named from an agricultural area on the Rio Grande flood plain, north of Cerro de Cristo Rey and in Dona Ana Co., NM (Strain, 1976).
