Type locality: in SE/4 SW/4 SW/4 NE/4 sec. 25, T. 4 S., R. 5 E., McLeansboro quadrangle, Hamilton Co., southern IL. Named from McLeansboro, Hamilton Co., southern IL (US geologic names lexicons, USGS Bull. 896, 1200; see also Kosanke and others, 1960).
