Mauzy Formation (KY*)
Permian, Early*
Type section (composite; subsurface and outcrop): (1) Kentucky Geological Survey corehole Gil-30, 7.5 mi northeast of Sturgis, northwestern Bordley quadrangle, 340 ft thick; and (2) 50 ft of younger strata in a nearby ridge, 1 mi west of Cap Mauzy Lake, Union Co., KY (Kehn and others, 1982).
