Described from Masuk Plateau [Tarantula Mesa, approx. Lat. 38 deg. 00 min. 05 sec. N., Long. 110 deg. 52 min. 41 sec. W., Steele Butte 7.5-min quadrangle, Garfield Co., UT], northwest of Mount Pennell and southwest of Mount Ellen (Gilbert, 1877; Hunt and others, 1953; additional locality information from USGS GNIS database and ACME Mapper 2.0, accessed August 28, 2009).
