Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type locality: on Route 143 east of Cerro Maravillas (Puerto Rico Meter Grid System 139,450 E.; 35,360 N. to 140,530 E.; 35,180 N.). Named from Cerro Maravillas on the Cordillera Central, [Jayuya quadrangle], west-central Puerto Rico (Mattson, 1967).
