Type section: is a series of exposures in the western bluff of Dry Creek, 0.7 mi southwest of the Granite Latter Day Saints Church, in NW/4 NW/4 sec. 14, T. 3 S., R. 1 E., Wasatch uplift, Salt Lake Co., UT. Named from Little Cottonwood Creek, Salt Lake Co., UT. (Morrison, 1965).
