Type section: John W. Karch Stone Company quarry, in SW/4 SW/4 sec. 31, T. 25 N., R. 15 E., near New Corydon, Adams Co., IN. Named from Limberlost area near Geneva (Droste and Shaver, 1976).
Principal reference section: Meshberger Bros. Stone Corp. quarry, 1.25 mi southeast of Fairview, Randolph Co. [in SW/4 NW/4 sec. 11, T. 21 N., R. 12 E.] (Droste and Shaver, 1976).
