Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Type section: 100 m below head of drainage and 100 m east of barn, in SE/4 NE/4 SW/4 sec. 21, T. 32 N., R. 13 E., Cape Girardeau Co., eastern MO. Named from town of Leemon, 3.2 km northeast of type section (Thompson and Satterfield, 1975).
