Type section: on west slope of hill behind mill at Readyville, northeast of where Murfreesboro-Woodbury Highway crosses East Fork of Stones River, Cannon Co., TN (Wilson, 1949).
Named from exposures at Lebanon, Wilson Co., TN (Safford, 1851).
