Type section: Paxton quarry, in N/2 sec. 30, T. 31 N., R. 7 E., along the south side of MI Highway 32, 14 km west of Alpena, Lachine, and Lake Winyah 7.5-min quadrangles, Alpena Co., MI. Named from town of Lachine, Alpena Co., MI (Gutschick and Sandberg, 1991).
