Age of the Antrim Shale in the Michigan Basin is changed to Late Devonian only based on conodonts, and is divided into four members, from base to top: Norwood, Paxton, Lachine, and upper members. The Lachine Member is here named for the town of Lachine. Consists of radioactive black shale with thin layers of greenish-gray shale and concretions. Conformably overlies the Paxton Member; conformably underlies the informal upper member of the Antrim. Thickness at type section is 19.2 m. Age is Late Devonian (early Famennian) based on conodonts.
