Not designated. Named from the Kona Hills, rising from the east shore of Goose Lake, in secs. 12 and 13, T. 47 N., R. 26 W., along border of Sands and Palmer 7.5-min quadrangles, Marquette Co., Northern Peninsula, northwestern MI (Van Hise and Bayley, 1895; Gair and Thaden, 1968).
