Type section: 300-m-thick section exposed between Killian Springs and Cottonwood Springs, west side of Pilot Range, in sec. 21, T. 5 N., R. 19 W., Patterson Pass 7.5-min quadrangle, Box Elder Co., UT. Named from Killian Springs (McCollum and Miller, 1991).
