Typically developed in right bank of Indian Creek, back of the country club at Kenwood Park, a suburb of Cedar Rapids. Named from Kenwood, Linn Co., IA (Norton, 1894; M.A. Stainbrook, 1935, Kansas Geol. Soc. Guidebook, 9th Ann. Field Conf., p. 251).
