Type section, locality, area and/or origin of name:

Not stated. Well exposed east of Higginsville, Lafayette Co., western MO (Cline, 1941; see also Jewett, 1941).
Principal reference section (= type section of Myrick Station Limestone Member of Pawnee Formation): in ravine in south bluff of Missouri River Valley, 0.75 mi west of Lexington in vicinity of former location of Myrick Station, in NE/4 NW/4 NE/4 sec. 5, T. 50 N., R. 27 W., Lexington West 7.5-min quadrangle, Lafayette Co., western MO (Gentile and Thompson, 2004).
