Type section: exposures along Highway 1 and on adjacent hillsides between Cerro Magueyes and the alluviated valley north of La Muda (Puerto Rico Meter Grid System 188,140 E.; 56,320 N. to 187,760 E.; 55,360 N.). Named from Quebrada Guaracanal, Aguas Buenas quadrangle, Puerto Rico (Pease, 1968).
