Type section: roadcut and nearby gullies to the west of a roadway that is 0.3 mi northwest of Cedar Grove Church and 1.25 mi east of village of Lick Creek, west line of NE/4 NW/4 sec. 31, T. 11 S., R. 2 E., Carbondale quadrangle, Johnson Co., IL (Swann, 1963).
