Geologic Unit: Golden

Usage:

No current usage.
(Rocks of †Golden Member of /Arapahoe-Denver Formation (CO-recognized locally in Golden area) reallocated to Denver Formation. See Denver.)

[The assignment of a unit to 2 adjacent formations, in one vertical sequence, is considered informal nomenclature (CSN, 1933; ACSN, 1961, 1970; NACSN, 1983, 2005, 2021). The use of a hyphen between undifferentiated formations is not considered proper notation (see CSN, 1933, Art. 13a, p. 437-438). Where the formations have not been separated in the field, it is considered proper notation to add the word "and", "undifferentiated", "included", etc.; and list formations in order of age (youngest first).]
