Type section: east side of Jericho Ridge, in E/2 secs. 6, 7, and 18, T. 13 S., R. 2 W., southern East Tintic Mountains, Furner Ridge quadrangle, Juab Co., UT (Morris and others, 1977).
Reference section: measured on west side of Jericho Ridge in W/2 sec. 6, 7, 18, T. 13 S., R. 2 W. Named from Furner Valley, which separates Jericho and Furner Ridges (Morris and others, 1977).
