Type section: roadcut exposures in newly opened highway [KY Route 15] along right bank of North Fork of Kentucky River, 0.3 mi north-northeast of the Frozen Creek Post Office, [Jackson 7.5-min quadrangle, 1961 ed., photorevised 1978], Breathitt Co., eastern KY (Hansen and others, 1962).
